The old silver Bridge. A popular gathering place then and now. When the movies came to town. First Blood, the first Rambo movie is known to have been filmed in mostly Hope but much of the film was shot in other areas as well including Pitt Meadows. The Army truck vs. the police cars scene was shot at Silver Bridge on Harris road. An aside can be found in the film clip at 2:00. The black Jeep pickup truck parked on the side belonged to Pitt Meadows resident Byron Affeldt whose family owned Affeldt Trucking. This scene was ironic for some PM residents at the time as a couple of years before there had been a horrific car crash on this very spot that took the lives of some young people who had been parked on the road when another vehicle driven by a friend of theirs ran into them in the dark.<\/p>\r\n
