The Museum takes in a variety of donations: from artifacts pertaining to the history of Pitt Meadows, to digital information, photos, charitable cash donations and (tax receipted) bequests.

As we are preparing for a move of the building, we ask that if you have any donations that you email us ( with a description and history of the item, and include photographs of the item. This is to allow for proper social distancing and to make sure the item gets into the museum correctly.

Donating Artifacts and Archival Materials

Please call the Museum and make an appointment to discuss a possible donation as items left on the buildings' doorsteps may be disposed of. For those who would like to contribute their family's photos but are not yet ready to part with these keepsakes, we will scan them and return the originals or vice versa and provide the donor with a high resolution digital copy. We do not purchase items for our collection.

Gifts in Kind and Cash

The Museum welcomes gifts in goods and services, as well as cash donations. These donations, unless otherwise specified, are used towards the general operations of the Museum.

The Pitt Meadows Museum Society Annual Book Award

Between $50.00 and $100.00 of each year's donations goes towards the funding of the Museum Society's Annual Book Award. It is given to a grade 11 student at Pitt Meadows Secondary School who has an interest in history, and who has excelled at Grade 11 Social Studies.

Tax receipts for Donations

The Museum Society is a registered charity and can write tax receipts for cash donations over $10.00, and for pre-appraised in kind donations.
