The PMSS year 1982. The AA Boys basketball team went almost all the way. This when the Marauders mascot was a hooded executioner waving a battle axe. Well known and well loved coach Rich Goulet took the team there. Most of my friends and I were not jocks in any way but some of our pals were never the less. I recall one friend actually winning the MVP award. But we PM punks were not game to use a pun. We went to some of the games but our enthusiasm was lacking and Coach Goulet confronted some of us in the hall and gave us a school spirit lecture. We scoffed and decided to get even. A friend of mine drove a rat trap old Datsun that we had mounted an air horn in. We decided to sneak the car into the gymnasium before one of the last games and blow the air horn when Pitt scored. That would fix the coach! But it backfired. The crowd loved it. We unintentionally became the heads of the cheering section. So we gave in. The coaches decided to put some exercise pads up in front of the car to be safer and we were even invited back. What a year to graduate it was. The photo of the car attached was generated from an original photo of \"Earl\" the Datsun but it does replicate the scene very well. The car was actually in the back corner by the exit doors though.<\/p>\r\n
