?<\/span>In 1953, George McMyn owned ten trucks, five of which only hauled milk. As an expert carpenter he built the bodies of trucks. The trucks hauled milk in the Vancouver market, milk from Pitt Meadows, Hammond, Haney and Coquitlam farms. An example of a successful season occurred in the summer of 1952; the line hauled 700 cans of milk per day. In an interview, he told a reporter about the work ethic of his shippers. He said “all my shippers have been 100%. In the wintertime when he run into trouble, it is not long before a shipper is out with his tractor or team to give us a hand”. It appears that George and his employees stopped at nothing to keep the business going. It is no wonder that in the photo, George seems to be proud of his business and accomplishments.<\/p>\r\n
