The old log road was constructed during the late 30's, early 40's and went straight through the peat bog between the ends of the 2 Ford Roads. Cars actually drove along it and it was a shortcut for those on foot to go to the store in Pitt Meadows central on Harris Road. There were, and are, many pine trees along this area and were cut down at Christmas for the home Christmas tree. I went with my father to select the \"very best\" tree. My mother hated walking the log road in the summer as many, many garter snakes used to sun themselves on the logs.<\/p>\r\n
