Heritage Hall Renovations

These photographs were taken by Doug McDermott during the renovation project of the Heritage hall c.1970s (Although based on the PMSS ’74 graffiti on the backdoor we would base the year to be then). Following the cities move of the Municipal Hall, the Hall underwent extensive renovations with the second phase occurring in 1977/78, and the door was mounted with a new crest that had our city motto “Prosperity through endeavour” crafted by Victor Tomb. In 2001 many of the community's recreation functions, including the senior's lounge, were relocated to the new family recreation centre located behind the new municipal hall. However, the old hall, which was officially renamed the "Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall" in 2004, still stands and is heavily booked for community functions. In 2006 the building was given a spot on the community’s register of heritage buildings.
