These pictures are taken from the Pitt Meadows Parent-Teacher Association scrapbook.<\/p>\r\n

On a Wednesday afternoon, December 1963, students at Pitt Meadows Elementary presented a half-hour program.<\/p>\r\n

In the first photo, five students stand on a stage that surrounds a Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus doll in a manger. The Nativity setting appears to be made up of paper, hay and wood. In that same photo five more students are standing on the floor in front of the stage holding sheets of paper that may have had the lines for their Christmas carols. It is believed that the girl in the yellow dress is Donna Hocken.<\/p>\r\n

In the second photo labeled “Intermediate Choir,” children smile for the camera. The intermediate choir was conducted by Mr. Beckett. This choir sang several carols, including the “Drummer Boy.” It is believed that one of the boys is a young Rick Bennet.<\/p>\r\n

In the third photo titled “The Primary choir”, many students stand in a square formation, while it is presumed their teacher Miss Smith, who directed the choir stands in the back. Miss Douglas directed the choral speaking pageant in which students sang “What was it like in Bethlehem?,” “The Friendly Beasts,” and “Away in a Manger.” It is believed that Stan Dittrich is near the front.<\/p>\r\n

The choirs came together and sang “Silent Night” as their finale, under the direction of Mr. Beckett.
