Museum After Dark
Want to commence the Halloween festivities in Pitt Meadows' spookiest old building? Join us for Museum After Dark (M.A.D.).  It is a fearfully fun-filled drop-in program for the whole family and is open to all ages. Come and view our cabinet of curiosities and get your Halloween fix. Drop in during open hours for the week before Halloween to take the M.A.D. Scavenger Hunt, where you will be challenged to find such dreaded treasures as Polly Pink Eye and her best friend Creepy Carla, the Pitt Meadows Merman, as well as delicious delicacies such as the deep-charred rat, free-range organic eyeballs, and Tongues on Sticks. Anyone who completes this hunt gets a treat!
This year's dates are October 25th, and 26th during our regular open hours. As well as the big day on October 29th when we are open from 12 to 6 P.M.
Thirteen Ghosts Scavenger Hunt
Calling all junior ghost hunters! The Pitt Meadows Museum needs your help! Join Museum staff and guest ghost hunters Gina and Victoria from Haunted History BC for a family-friendly free Halloween event! Get ready to search for ghosts in the Thirteen Ghosts scavenger hunt. After you’re done ghost hunting, you can select one free pumpkin per family to take home! October 29th during our Museum After Dark program, drop by early to avoid missing out!
For more information about Haunted History BC check out their website here.
What can I expect? This event is our Annual Halloween event. We decorate the Museum with Halloween decor and put up our scavenger hunt items that might be a little scary. Nothing jumps out to scare you, everything is stationary and on display. There is a scavenger hunt (two hunts if you attend on October 29th),   a craft table, and several photo stations. It is a family-friendly event.
Do I have to come at a specific time? The big event runs on October 29th from 12 - 6 p.m. It is a drop-in event, however, we do have a limited amount of pumpkins that are being donated by Haunted History BC, so if you have your heart set on getting a pumpkin (after completing the 13 Ghosts Scavenger Hunt) be sure to arrive early!
Does it cost anything to attend? This event is run through your donations at the door.
What is the difference between October 29th and the other dates? October 29th is our big night. We have our special guests attending, Haunted History BC's Gina and Victoria, and they will be bringing along their 13 Ghosts Scavenger Hunt. They are only coming on the 29th. That night the Museum will also be open later (12 - 6 p.m.). It gets darker and feels a little creepier, we dim the lights, and the staff dress up.
What is the parking situation? We have parking at the back of the General Store Building that can be accessed through the West Coast Express Station parking lot. If that lot fills up, we have parking across the street at the Hoffmann Site (If you park there, you will have to cross the street to the general store site). Parking at both of our sites is available for free to our visitors.
What is the best time to arrive? Earlier is always better to guarantee that you will get a pumpkin from the Haunted History BC's 13 Ghosts Scavenger Hunt. We will be giving out candy to all those who complete the regular hunt all evening long though!
Wait! I still have questions! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will do our best to answer.
Happy Halloween!
