History of the Hamano Family

Kukutaro Hamano was a Farmer employed by K. Minaki. He was married to Hatsu Hamano who remained in Japan and was never interned. It is unknown if he intended to remain in Canada and bring his family over, or if he wished to return to Japan. Most of the Japanese men, 18-45, who were forcibly uprooted to Princeton were forced to build the Hope-Princeton highway. Due to the location Kukutaro was placed, he could have been part of that labour force.

We lose track of him after he left Pitt Meadows.
