History of the Fujii Family

As of 1925, the family was living near or on Pender Island, but by 1931 the family was living in Pitt Meadows. The Fujii family had a strawberry farm on Harris Road, but they also grew raspberries and rhubarb. The family was uprooted in 1942 to Letellier, MB where they worked on a sugar beet farm. Eventually a house was purchased in Winnipeg, MB for the family where they remained.

Hyogoro Fujii was born on March 5^th, 1882.

Sen Fujii was born on May 9^th, 1887, and she died in 1976 in Manitoba.

Hanae (Allan) Sasaki (nee: Fujii) was born in 1922 (?) and passed away on August 21^st, 2013. She married William Sasaki. She had several children: Ryan, Elaine, Janet, and Dianne. She remained in Manitoba.

Tomiko (Edna) Fujii was born on January 12^th, 1923, and passed away in 1982. She remained in Manitoba.

Katherine Teruko Phillips (Hinatsu) (Nee: Fujii) was born on February 5^th, 1924, in Hop Bay, Pender Island. She passed away on November 1^st, 2000. She had several children: Kathy, Larry, and Jenny. She remained in Manitoba.

Yaeko (Mary) Mori (nee: Fujii) was born on October 29^th, 1925, in Hop Bay, Pender Island and passed away on May 15^th, 2021. She married Robert Kyosuke on May 15^th, 1948, and had four children: Marlene Mori, Doreen, Ken and Dan.

Kimie (Hilda) Fujii was born on August 7^th, 1927 (?). She remained in Manitoba following the war.

Hisao Fujii was born on June 26^th, 1928(?).

Tokio (Steve) Fujii was born on March 21^st, 1931, in Pitt Meadows, he passed away on February 14^th, 2022. Steve married Phyllis on April 3^rd, 1958. They had two children, Debra and David. He remained in Manitoba.
