The Pitt Meadows Museum’s Hoffmann and Son Shop was lucky enough to host Blacksmith John Adolph and a group of interested individuals in an Introduction to Blacksmithing session last weekend. While the session is aimed at giving the basics of blacksmithing in a museum environment, a few of our regular smiths came out as well to continue their learning and show their recent projects. This intro course is given annually with the intention of training smiths who will then volunteer their time demonstrating the craft to the public while continuing working on their own projects. Interested individuals should contact the museum for future opportunities.
