January, 2022 -- The Pitt Meadows Museum is open and is operating under Covid 19 protocols in order to protect our visitors, our staff and our volunteers.
Things to know before visiting the Museum:
·Mask wearing is mandatory for anyone 5 years old and older (PHO).
·Contact tracing is in place and hand sanitizing on entry is required
·Vaccination confirmation for those 12 and older may be put in place at any time – be prepared to show your proof of Covid 19 vaccination as well as a government ID
·PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID 19 ORHAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOME ONE WHO HAS THEM (14 DAYS) OR HAVE TRAVELLED OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY IN THE LAST 14 DAYS
·We are open Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00pm but may close at any time if reduced staff levels necessitate it
·Research visits in the Community Archives are by booking an appointment or by emailing us your request
·Entry to either of our sites is by our front doors only
·Numbers in the Museum are limited to half our average capacity, and this means approximately 12 visitors in our galleries at one time
·Social distance and understand Museum staff may ask visitors to move in order to maintain spacing
·We have a limited number of our “Pioneer Gadgets” hands-on items available – touching of other objects is NOT allowed. You may also request a scavenger hunt sheet to the galleries
·We are not doing organized in door tours at this time – contact the Museum for updates
·Museum Sundays still run from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with room for up to two cohorts of 4 people who must remain seated and work from a Museum Sunday kit. The Kit may also be picked up and taken away to do at home. All Museum Sunday Kits may be had for a small donation.
·Respect for staff, volunteers and other visitors is paramount – disrespect and/or harassment will not be tolerated
·There are no public washrooms available at this time
